Bound volume of written material collected by Robert Gunther and ordered and bound by Albert Gunther. The form and content of the papers are as follows:
Letters, mostly from Henry Peter Hansell (Commoner 1882-1885, Tutor to the Prince of Wales (Edward VIII), Prince George, Prince Albert and Prince Henry). The correspondence with R. Gunther relates to personal matters, those concerning the Prince of Wales position while up in Oxford (at Magdalen) and other royal matters.
There is correspondence with Hansell and Garrard & Co. Ltd. regarding the design of the Prince of Wales’ Cup (presented to Magdalen College in 1915). There is a photograph of the cup at the back of this volume.
Correspondence from John B. Carrington relating to the design of a cup for the college, called the ‘Miller’ cup (see folio 65 for a description).
