Bound set of letters to Robert Gunther from Edward Chapman and his family. The topics include requests for accommodation on visits, plans for Gunther’s marriage, social arrangements and other personal matters. There is a typed note (dated 1966) in the front of the book from Albert Gunther regarding Chapman’s nickname for Robert Gunther and a suggestion of where the appellation ‘the Count’ was derived from.
This set of bound correspondence was donated to the archives by Albert Gunther on January 23rd, 1967.
