Professor A. Michael Spence
Professor Spence read Mathematics at Magdalen 1966-1968 as a Rhodes Scholar. He then had a distinguished career at Harvard, and then from 1990 to 2000 at Stanford, both of which he served as Dean. In October 2001 he was named a co-winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize for Economics.
